International Women's Day

On this international women’s day, we thank the strong women who came before us and showed us the way. We support the women we stand together with today. And we light the way for the young women who are growing, learning, and teaching us new ways of thinking.
Quilting has served as a source of community for women throughout the years. Quilting parties – commonly called quilting bees – were a social network for women in the nineteenth century, breaking the isolation often felt by women on the farms and ranches in the Midwest. At these gatherings, women shared news and information about their families and friends – and more importantly learned about current events and other important topics. These connections inspired the name of our shop.
